Avocado and Honey Facial Mask is a variation of the traditional avocado honey mask. Only two ingredients are present in the classic avocado and honey mask. But no one can deny us to experiment with the addition of various products depending of type and recipiency of our skin.
I like variety and I like to collect and come up with new original recipes. I add sour cream to avocado with honey and got soft mixture that does not irritate my sensitive skin. (You can use yogurt instead of sour cream. A mixture from avocado and yogurt are also well suited for sensitive skin.)
This mask has both nourishing and cleansing effects. Avocado contains essential skin vitamins. Due to the presence of honey this mask can be attributed to a hydrating facial mask. Lactic acid contained in sour cream helps to get rid of dead cells of the superficial layer of the skin.
- ½ avocado
- 1 Tbsp of honey
- 1 Tbsp of sour cream
I use sour cream without preservatives for most of my masks. Its storage life is very short but that sour cream does not contain any chemical additives.
Avocado should be ripe. If you have got unripe avocado hold it for 2-3 days in a dark place.
Wash the avocado. Cut it in half and remove the seeds. Extract the pulp from the one half of avocado with a teaspoon.
Mash it to puree consistence with a fork. Add sour cream and honey.
Mix all ingredients to homogeneous mass.
Apply mask onto the face with your fingertips.
Leave the mask for 20 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water.
If I told you that second half of the avocado could be a basic carrier for yummy dietetic sandwich? Do not forget to put on top of it a slice of tomato.
