Brown sugar and lemon facial scrub is one of the easiest and most enjoyable scrubs. The skin after it is smooth like baby’s one.
I like brown sugar scrubs more than salt scrubs. Nothing bad will happen if you occasionally get a sweet scrub into your mouth. It’s even delicious. But you will spit out if salt gets into your mouth instead.
Adding lemon into sugar scrub is double win. It gives a nice smell and extra exfoliating effect.
I do not recommend using unprepared brown sugar. Its granules are too big and you can injure the delicate skin of the face. It is necessary to have a skin of an elephant or a hippopotamus to use that sugar as it is.
Grind it in a coffee grinder for 5-7 seconds. The result will be the same but the skin will not suffer.
- 1 Tbsp of brown sugar
- ½ lemon
- 2 tsp of ground oatmeal
Wash the lemon and cut it in half. Squeeze a tablespoon of lemon juice. You can use lime if you do not have a lemon at the moment. Add the shredded brown sugar and oatmeal.
I mill oatmeal in the coffee grinder as well as sugar. You can add oatmeal to the scrub or not. I have the sensitive skin and I always make brown sugar scrub with the addition of oatmeal. That makes it a lot more viscous and a little bit soft.
Thoroughly mix all ingredients. Rub the scrub onto the skin with gentle circular motions of your fingertips. Do not touch your eye area. Massage your face for 3 minutes.
Leave the scrub on your face for 10 minutes and wash it off immediately if desired.
Blot the face with a paper towel after washing.
Well, you don’t need to look in the mirror. Touch your face. Don’t you feel the skin is soft like silk?
