You can reuse coffee leftovers or brew it anew and make an amazing coffee ground face scrub in combination with one or two more ingredients creating a blend of coffee, sea salt and yogurt for example.

Coffee is a wonderful drink by itself, but its main ingredient caffeine can also provide extra benefits for your health and appearance as a beauty product.

Benefits of Coffee with Sea Salt

A grainy substance of this mix has antibacterial and skin-stimulating properties and an extra-scrubbing power which helps remove

  • all residual dirt and dead,
  • flaky and dry skin cells off face surface,
  • get rid of blackheads and acne,
  • as well as increase blood circulation and improve your skin softness and elasticity.

This scrub has a rejuvenating, fortifying and refreshing effect, so you should definitely indulge your tired and dull face skin with this magic home remedy which makes it feel fresh, dewy and relaxed.

Be careful when applying coffee-and-salt scrub to your skin if it is too sensitive or prone to inflammation.

In this case exclude sea salt from the recipe and add only sour cream or yogurt for more tender effect.

Be very careful as too much effort may cause irritation of your skin instead of great polishing effect. Quickly wash away all scrub leftovers with warm water and apply a special lotion to soothe the skin.

If you have very sensitive skin use Homemade Coffee Face Scrub without salt.

Is there treatment for irritation after coffee scrub?

  • Irina  June 30, 2014 at 15:34

There is no need to do anything. Irritation goes down by itself after a while, let say 1-2 hours.
If you’ve got very sensitive skin then you need to choose more gentle facial scrub, for example with grind oatmeal.
