Tomato sugar and honey face scrub is quite original recipe. Maybe someone does not like the combination of tomatoes with sugar and honey. But I like all the unusual and it is confident that the scrub will find its fans. For fans of traditional recipes I can recommend brown sugar honey scrub.
I don’t know exact proportions for the scrub with tomato and sugar for all skin types. Owners of sensitive skin should do it with caution. Gentle masks and scrubs with oatmeal are more suitable for them.
I have sensitive skin and I want to make a scrub. In order not to cause irritation of the face I mill powdered sugar and I add a teaspoon of olive oil.
I liked what I’ve got in the result. Check it out.
- ½ tomato
- 1 Tbsp of honey
- 1 Tbsp of sugar
- 1 tsp of olive oil
Wash the tomatoes. Peel the rind. Tomatoes peel is very strong despite the fact it’s very thin. Crush the tomatoes with a blender until a puree.
Brown sugar or white sugar? I like brown one but that is my personal preference. Grind the sugar in a coffee grinder to a powder.
In the article How to use sugar for the face I wrote what type of sugar is better to choose and how to handle it.
Mix the tomato puree with powdered sugar, honey and olive oil. By the way, if the honey is hardened it is not necessary to warm it. You can use candied honey for the scrubs. Just mix it thoroughly with other ingredients.
Wash your hands and face. Take scrub with your fingertips and massage the face with circular movements.
Do it for about 3 minutes.
Avoid the eye area. You can protect that area from the scrub by smearing olive oil there before scrub applying.
Leave the scrub for 10 minutes if you do not feel discomfort of the skin.
Remove the scrub immediately if you feel a tingling on the skin.
Rinse it off with warm water by special soft cosmetic sponge.
Don’t forget to apply moisturizer.
